Chalkchalk is an independent project created by Jett Zaleski Olivares. It brings coursework, study tools and conversations together around a simple idea: help someone keep thinking.

Start with the student’s attempt
The tutor is designed to ask what a student has tried, offer a manageable next step and use the material from their course. An unfinished or wrong attempt gives the conversation somewhere useful to begin.
Keep teachers in the conversation
A teacher-led class lets teachers read student questions, review saved work and leave feedback. Personal courses let students study on their own without sharing that work with a teacher. These are separate spaces with different visibility.
Show what the product actually does
Public demonstrations use illustrative examples, rather than real student data or invented testimonials. Some demos use scripted replies. They show the workflow; they are not evidence of learning outcomes or a guarantee of AI accuracy.
Build with clear limits
AI can make mistakes. Uploaded material can be read incorrectly. Course rules and permission to use a source still matter. Chalkchalk publishes its privacy policy, terms, pricing and service status so you can understand the service before using it.
